Customer Review: As a Texas public school administrator, I highly recommend never spending a moment of your life reading this. There is a much better book called "An Educator's Guide to Texas School Law." If you're a Texas educator, I would buy that book and avoid this one. This is a college text intended for LAW... more info
Customer Review: I am using this book in my Maters program. So far it seems easy to understand and use. This is one book that I will keep and be able to use in my office. It is a good all around book for administrators as well as first time supervisors.
Customer Review: The purchase experience was pretty smooth and the book was obtained at a reasonable price. The only issue I had was that the seller never responded to any of my e-mails. I did desire next day delivery but got no where with it. Other than that, it went fine.
Customer Review: This book, unlike most education titles is well written and interesting. All areas are covered in an easy to read format with list summaries for each of the sections.
Customer Review: The content is wordy and the case scenarios do not provide any response therefore it is not as helpful as it could be. It doesnt have any study questions.
Customer Review: Nola does an excellent job of reviewing Employment Laws in an easy to understand and concise manner. Human Resource departments could benefit by making sure every manager has this book and understands the content. They would save themselves a lot of time backtracking after the fact with when legal... more info
Customer Review: As with two other Nolo books I own, "Working for Yourself is a pretty good reference book if you're a home business owner or freelancer needing information about running your business. As the book says, this guide is intended "for those self-employed people who provide personal services, such as... more info
Customer Review: Overall a pretty robust text on labor relations. I would have enjoyed it more if there would have been a deeper legal history, mostly it discussed arbitration, and failed to cover the legal battle that led up to the NLBR's establishment. Besides that problem, this text is good enough.
Customer Review: I had purchased this book for a masters level class I was in. It is incredibly comprehensive and will be your one-stop source for employment law as it relates to Human Resource practices. There are lots of case studies and discussion questions should you feel the text doens't challenge you... more info
