Customer Review: This book is more about his self interests and promoting his career then about healthcare. He believes that our answer for healthcare is to insert a "unbiased" politically appointed board of doctors and economists between you and your doctor. There are already standards of care and government... more info
Customer Review: This will help you understand and make sense of what is happening today by giving the political, economical & social history of the United States during the last 70-80 years. I could not put this book down after reading the first page. A great quality of Krugman's style is that he avoids the use... more info
Customer Review: As a retired University Professor, I find a certain simpatico with Newt's approach. He may be all the things outlined on the back dust cover, but, in my opinion, he is first an educator. His logic is clear, his motivation is strong, and his presentation provides an easy to read learning experience.... more info
Customer Review: What is new in Dan Pallotta's book is not really important, and what is important, isn't really new. Mr. Pallotta's main reason for writing the book is to expose what he feels were unfair critiques of his commercial fund raising company. His rendition of his company's experience provide the only... more info
Customer Review: I was disappointed with this book. It's really not the least bit insightful or helpful--opening your eyes driving through any slum would yield the observations available here. Look for something else if you're considering this book, or borrow it from a library instead of purchasing.
Customer Review: This book is actually one of the better textbooks I've been asked to spend some time with--and there have been quite a few. The chapters are long--30+ pages, and its the typical dry stuff...but its current which helps keep it interesting.
Customer Review: I had to read this book in graduate school and begrudgingly started it only to be immediately drawn in, often staying up to 3am reading. Part was because it read like a fast paced, eventful fiction narrative however the sad part was that it documents the reality of the beginning of HIV in the United... more info
Customer Review: This text provides informative and up to date information regarding a broad range of drug related topic. Althought the reading level is not easy, the information is extremely useful for drug counselors. The information presented regarding psychopharmacology provides an excellent base of preparation... more info
Customer Review: This has to be one of the most boring books I have had. I wish I didn't buy it. I luckily had a great professor who taught well and was descriptive and a huge SW advocate. So, I wasted my money. But, if you don't know what kind of prof or it's required for class, be prepared to be bored out of your... more info
