Customer Review: I am a biography fan and a history buff. The American Lion was written in the style of a gossip column. The author elevated Jackson's social life and the interaction of Jackson's associates, family and friends to a level of importance rendering the book unreadable. Jackson's contributions to the... more info
Customer Review: Whether this book is historically accurate or a wonderful fiction does not matter - it should be read by all politicians and potential leaders. The traits of the reported Lincoln are inspiring. Patient, humorous, humble and wise beyond mere intelligence Lincoln could have read all of the literature... more info
Customer Review: This is an incredibly rich and detailed history of one African-American family, the Hemingses of Monticello. Ten years ago DNA analysis confirmed a two hundred year old rumor, that Sally Hemings, a slave belonging to Thomas Jefferson, had in all likelihood been his mistress and borne children by... more info
Customer Review: I think this one's a little more history buffs. It focuses less on facts and dates and setting the stage for what happened in the Massachusetts Bay Colony and a lot more on the personalities involved. If you know all the facts, this new take is quite refreshing.
Customer Review: I bought this audio book as a Christmas gift for myself. I've been listening to it as I commute to and from work and am thoroughly enjoying it. The reading is well done and the content is very good.
Customer Review: John Adams The book was shipped with decent shipping time. It arrived before Christmas so everything was good. My husband loved it even though it was used. It looked like it was still in good shape. The content of the book is awesome!

She references that many times because she (or anyone) does not have any facts regarding the exact life of this subject in her early years. This book is only for people who are really,... more info

Customer Review: I first read this book about 20 years ago, have re-read it several times and referred it to numerous people. It's a great, inspirational read, including personal stories of spiritual survival. -Was happy to see it's still in print.
Customer Review: Why would someone want to read this trash when the writings of Gracian are readily available? Mr. Greene's puerile commentary and interpretations serve no worthwhile purpose, given the fact that he over-exteriorises and banalises the matter (Gracian would say: "Leave some room for mystery...").... more info
