Customer Review: This recital was originally broadcast on BBC-TV in 1989. Richter was 74 then but clearly had not lost any of his powers. He had, however, developed some idiosyncrasies that have a bearing on this recording. He was playing this recital, consisting of three Mozart sonatas and a selection from Chopin's... more info
Customer Review: This DVD captures to Mrs. Argerich in absolute plenitude of her overpowered gifts with a variegated program. Alexander Rabinovitch demonstrates his persuasive temperament as conductor, making a terrific version about Prokoviev's Classical Symphony Op. 25. Then, soloist and orchestra... more info
Customer Review: My title applies primarily to the 1965 black & white film of Alexis Weissenberg playing Stravinsky's Three Movements from Petrushka, amazingly creatively filmed in Stockholm by Åke Falck. I remember seeing this film on TV almost forty years ago and the memory of it has stayed with me ever... more info
Customer Review: Everything about this DVD is first rate. The compositions are masterpieces. The performer plays them better than anyone else. The film was made with patience, care, intelligence, and forethought -- it is interesting to watch without being distracting from the performance. As to the performance... it... more info

In fact, she has eschewed the recording studio altogether, preferring to release only live concerto & chamber recordings. We can, however, take great solace... more info
Customer Review: I'm a seeker of the ideal Chopin. This performance is very good but if you have the Chopin recordings of Pollini,Perahia,Zimerman and Rubinstein then you probably don't need this one. But if you do decide to buy it you wont be disappointed.
