I received a Gateway notebook from a sibling when my old Dell notebook had run its course, and my sibling purchased a Mac notebook. She mentioned the computer shutting down due to overheating, and I did notice the problem myself but it wasn't too bad. I had at that point mostly used the notebook for word processing and internet browsing. After I had purchased a computer game, I noticed the real problem with it. Good buy, does its job, delivers value for money:
I consider this cooling pad a good purchase for the money. I have two laptops, one is a 15.6" and the other one a 17". This pad performs well, but only provides sufficient cooling for the 15.6". I had to buy another pad with two fans for the other one. Pros: lightweight, manageable, extremely quiet, good looks. Cons: limited cooling capacity from its small, single fan.

I had this on my wish list and received it for x-mas...it is super quiet..I can't even tell it is running. It is very comfortable to have on my lap while sitting in bed while surfing the web. To use, simply plug the USB plug into the back of your laptop and place your laptop on top of it. It doesn't get any easier than that! I do wish though it came in black, since most laptops ARE black.
