Cannot use to play a DVD off your computer? What's the point... save your money.
No Need for Tivo/DVR:
This product works as advertized. I connected to my Samsund LN52650A, to gain benefit of Anynet+ capability. It was a little "wierd" to connect, but easy enough, just make sure you go to the "source" in order to gain access to the extender. Thought I would be able to play DVDs from my PC but stangley enough that capability is not available. No need to spend more on other models. Well priced, and a benfit to connecting to a Samsung screen because of the mounting plate availbe on the rear of the TV.
Unit Has Lots of Potential...But Needs A Few Good Updates:
Recently picked up the Samsung MediaLive Digital Media Adapter and have been using it on my Samsung 46A650 television for about three days. Does a nice job playing multimedia content (pictures/mpeg video) directly from my computer via a wireless connection and the interface is top notch (uses Windows Media Center). However, I'm very disapointed with the adapter's codec support. First off, it doesn't support flash - so forget about YouTube or .flv videos.
