Just about everything I needed:
I am not a serious video creator and was not looking for any particular feature. This software seems to be able to do everything that I threw at it so far: uploading YouTube videos, creating custom soundtracks, converting old home movies into DVDs. It's easy enough to use, and so far has been very trouble-free on both Windows XP and Windows 7.
Can't render properly to .m2ts or .mp4 using Sony AVC:
If you are planning on making high quality HD videos do not get this software. It works fine for non-HD video but will randomly crash trying to render .m2ts or sometimes .mp4 files in HD. It is very frustrating getting your project to 92% complete then the program just exiting, or getting a runtime error. This is a well known problem and Sony has no fix for it, Google it and see for yourself. Please save yourself the trouble and do not purchase this.
Sony Vegas 9 Platinum:
This is a great product for the price. I've been using Pinnacle Studio for years with good results, but Vegas takes video editing to a totally different level. My kids and wife take video from whatever they are carrying: cell phone, palm, or camera. Even though their video is inferior it's still important to them and they enjoy watching their video later from a DVD. Sony Vegas lets me put various video files into the program and edit without having to convert everything to one format. That's what I like... more info

I did not check the product before purchasing. One of my friend supposed to help me to use it, but he refused to do it due to the store policy. So I retrn the product. I hope the saller refund me some portion of the payment. Sony products are very good. Actually I should not rate it, because I did not use it. A friend of mine he loves it.
