The Sound album released in 2008 shows Mary Mary are not ones to shy away from in-your-face declarations of faith, the girls are now more intentional than ever about whom they adore, without for a moment compromising their call to innovation and growth. The introspective 'Seattle' is a prime example, a pensive prayer that asks the Lord to descend upon the soul the same way rain falls on the Emerald City. In the vein of Mary Mary standards 'Can't Give Up Now' and 'Yesterday,' a couple of ballads on The Sound stand out for their passionate delivery: 'I Trust You' (feat. Marvin Winans) and 'I Worship You' are easily the sonic and spiritual plateaus of the album.

Worth Buying:
There are many mixed reviews and all are entitled to each's opinion. I'm reading how the cd has strayed from Gospel roots and more into the secular culture - WOW! My opinion is that when you KNOW God and his word the music can help minister to what you already know. This cd can reach those that may not KNOW the word, and encourage those to seek HIM. It's real and still very inspiring...if you listen to the messages they are all on point. My favorite is "God In Me" and "Forgive Me". For me "God In Me"... more info
Good CD:

If Jesus walked the earth today I am sure he would include all people. Last time I checked we are all sinners. Some sin behind closed doors while others sin outside. In saying this, if we only let those on the CD who are without sin then we would have no CD or gospel music at that. In the song with David Banner he says something to the affect " I curse in my songs but I am... more info
Very Poor:
This shouldn't be classified as a gospel cd. Most of this is garbage. So many are selling out.
Mary Mary:
If you like Mary Mary, you will enjoy this CD. It has a slightly different beat than their usual sound, but than again, maybe that's why they called it 'The Sound'. Buy it, you might like it.
