Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Basics
During the early 1930s Helio Gracie, the mastermind of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, became Brazils first fighting legend. His first-born son, Rorion, began practicing this method of self-defense at the age of 2. In the late 70s, after graduating Law School at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Rorion decided to bring his familys techniques to the United States.
In 1993, Rorion Gracie created the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) with the objective of answering the age old question: Which martial art was the most effective for a real street fight ? Gracie Jiu-Jitsu was the answer when his brother Royce defeated representatives of Karate, Kung Fu, Savate, Wrestling, Boxing, Kick-boxing, among others in the no-holds-barred arena.
It is a fact that 95% of all real fights go into a clinch and eventually end up on the ground. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is the only martial art that effectively addresses ground fighting the most important aspect of any real fight. These simple and effective techniques do not require strength, speed, or coordination.
Disc 1: How to close the distance/How to escape from the mount position
Disc 2: How to pass the guard/How to escape from headlocks
Dick 3: Finishing holds: armlocks and chokes
Rorion and Royce share simple techniques for taking your opponent to the ground and effectively dealing with every basic aspect of a street fight, including the application of armlocks and chokes.

If you consider yourself a MARTIAL artist--that is, you are seeking the skills to best enable you to survive in a... more info
