AVOID THIS DVD PLAYER:
DO NOT BUY THIS DVD PLAYER. I HAVE HAD IT FOR 6 MONTHS. 90% OF THE TIME WHEN WE ARE WATCHING A DVD, THE PLAYER WILL EITHER STOP PLAYING COMPLETELY OR, MORE FREQUENTLY, SUDDENLY THERE WILL BE NO SOUND. I HAVE TO STOP THE PLAYER, OPEN THE DRAWER AND/OR CHANGE THE SETTING FROM NORMAL TO PROGRESSIVE AND THEN BACK TO NORMAL. THEN IT WILL PLAY AGAIN AS NORMAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED AS MANY AS FIVE TIMES DURING A 90 MINUTE DVD. SONY WANTS ME TO SEND IT IN FOR REPAIR, AT MY EXPENSE. I SAY NO, THEY SHOULD REPLACE IT OR... more info

I bought this Sony upscaling DVD player four months ago and have used it quite a lot in this time. First, it totally outscores all other DVD players in ine aspect for sure and that is the upscaling property & picture quality. It's not as high as Blu-Ray, but it surely reaches 1080p HD quality.
