i ordered the DVD recorder for Christmas. Apparently someone else also wanted one for Christmas! i was gone for less than a hour....in that time the item was stolen off my front porch. i contacted Amazon and they immediately ordered a replacement....no questions asked! Pretty incredible these days....by the way, the recorder works great!! could and would refer both the product and seller to anyone with a very clear conscience! thanx Amazon!!

HORRIBLE AUDIO DELAYS:
Got this unit for Christmas. When copying VHS to DVD, there was horrible audio / video syncronization problems ranging from a couple of milliseconds to 3 or 4 seconds. Made it absolutely worthless. Took it back and got a Toshiba and the Toshiba works perfect. I like Samsung but not this unit.

The playback from Cable recordings are really clear, crisp. I notice most if not all DVD recorders now only allow regular composite input from Cable or SAT box however. With this combo unit, you are able to dub either DVD to VHS or VHS to DVD, also you can record from your Cable Box or SAT box onto either format.
