I've only had this carpet cleaner a short time so I can't attest to any long term performance, but for the short time I've had it, I couldn't be happier with its results. It's easy to use and very effective; it amazes me how much muck it can pull out of the carpet. The Hoover shampoo products have a nice smell, not too perfumey, and the house smells better from the combination of clean carpet and pleasantly scented shampoo. I wish I'd made this purchase a long time ago.

I don't do reviews but this product was worth some of my time to do so. Many of the people that have left a review helped me a lot to make a final decision and choose this product. My carpets are clean, the detergent leaves a pleasant small and the cleaning of the unit is a breeze. I had a Bissell and not only it was expensive it was not a great design and it lasted about one year. Hoover designed this unit with such care and everything is great. Very happy: makes carpet soft and fresh:
Vacuum: I had a mid range Bissell prior to this which I thought worked fairly well. This Steam vacuum totally blows the old one away. It is easy to take apart and clean when you are finished and the soap smells great. There are separate containers for the clean water, soap, and dirty water. The vac auto mixes the water and soap. There are also settings for scrubbing speed and a rinse only option as well an attachment for stairs and upholstery. Price: I bought this vacuum over the weekend and it arrived... more info
carpet cleaner:
This cleaner does an amazing job cleaning the carpet. The carpet is still damp for about 24 hours, but the stains come up and the carpet looks great. I am very pleased that I chose this carpet cleaner.
