Great addition to the camera:
I recently went on a Caribbean cruise and wanted to get this case for my flip camera. It is truly amazing how great it works and was able to get some amazing videos of snorkeling etc.
Underwater case does not work-will not allow camera to turn on:
Purchased this case in May 2008. I had purchased 3 others previously, and two out of the three worked O.K. One leaked, but we fixed that problem ourselves. Then I bought mine, and didn't get an opportunity to use it until October. And, my bad, I didn't try it out. Well, when you put the camera inside the case, it won't turn on. The "on-off" button on the case is too far from the switch on the camera. Thus not allowing it to turn on. I can turn the camera on, then place it in the case, but that isn't very... more info
not water proof:
Thought I would take a chance despite the hit and miss reviews- we got a miss!! Tried the tissue test at home and had no problem, put the camera in and submerged, still no problem. As soon as we hit the ocaen- big problem!! In just chest deep water with the canera just below water level we noticed it was taking on water. We immediately removed the camera and luckily had no damage to the camera. Cleaned the case and seal when we returned to our ship and let it dry.
