Defective out of the box:
I bought this product for my mom for Christmas (2008) and, unfortunately, it was defective out of the box. The display that shows CD tracks/radio stations didn't work properly. The CD player is supposed to play regular CDs as well as CD-R and CD-RW CDs; the only CDs I could get to work were regular CDs. It wouldn't recognize a CD-RW CD that worked in another CD-player we had. Maybe the one I got was a dud, but it was a poor product nonetheless. I'm sending it back to Amazon for a refund.
good radio:
While certainly not the most amazing radio I have ever heard, it does its job well. I use this as my kitchen/ portable radio. I like that it has a cd player and a tape player. I can finally borrow books on tape from the library! If you are looking for a reasonably priced radio/ cd player/ tape player this is a good choice.
good purchasing experience:
I haven't actually seen the product in action since it was a gift for a friend, but the purchase experience was flawless.
Great Item:
I purchased this player because I was moving and my large stereo was packed. Am I glad I did. My new place is smaller than my old one, and since I am at a loss for space, I may use this item permanently. Sound is good, and though initially, learning to use functions was not easy, now I am an expert. Would recommend to a friend and purchase another if needed.
