Real-time clock feature changes the time of day based on the DS clock. The Pokemon you can catch vary based on the region and the time of day. Also, certain Pokemon moves' power changes based on time.
More elaborate Pokemon Contests. Players can use the accessories and dress up their Pokemon. Players make "Poffin" out of Berries to raise their Pokemon's contest stats.

Great fun:
This is a great game. The kids and I love playin and trading. Get pearl for your other DS and then you can play with the kids. Graphics are really good, gameplay is smooth and straight forward.

OK. I'm 44 years old and female. This is the first Pokemon game I ever played. (Previously my young son had played Pokemon Stadium on the N64 and Colosseum and XD on the GameCube, but I didn't really pay attention to it. And of course we watch the shows.) This game is SO addicting. I bought it when it first came out; completed it in May of 2007, and have logged an additional 600 hours breeding, training, and battling Pokemon.
