This Actually Makes Sense:
I love this book! After reading it cover to cover I thought, finally a health and diet book that not only makes sense, but isn't a typical unrealistic "diet"! I really appreciated the authors explaining the science behind the concepts so that I can actually understand what my body is thinking and reacting in order to manage my weight and health. There are actually over 800 references. I borrowed the book to my mother and interestingly, one of the first things she asked was where the recipes and grocery... more info
WOW!:
I think I finally found the holy grail! I have been studying nutrition topics for more than 15 years, and this book really breaks down the details of the hormones involved in weight loss/ weight gain. Excellent!:
I gave it a four because I'm not finished with it. It is very interesting and I am learning so much.
Well researched, but more than a bit snobbish:
The authors are only willing to help the chosen ones. Mother didn't nurse you when you were born? Hopeless. Took some amphedimines in college while studying for final exams? Hopeless. You get the idea. So, if you're one of those perfect people who lived a Susie-Creamcheese life, this is the book for you. But, if you're so perfect, why would you need it? Gave them 2 stars for research alone; wouldn't recommend this book to any of my friends.
