The Best:
This is without a doubt, the best GPS-handheld reference guide that you will find on the market. Great for the novice and the experienced users alike. Easy to read and understand chapters provides a wealth of useful information that can be applied immediately. I have several books covering the same topics, however, this is the only book I will ever need. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.
Good Book:
Everyone should read before buying a GPS. I bought it with a DeLorme PN-40 and I am happy with both.
So far so good - have not made it to the end of the book yet but seems to be exactly what I need.
Essential:
I've used GPS for mountain biking for over two years. This book was a real eye opener. Garmin should hire this guy to write their manuals. The book is full of great info. You should buy it just for the information on WAAS. The book turned me on to some really cool mapping software. If you are the least bit serious about GPS I think this book is indispensable. It even gives you some information on how to find cardinal directions without using GPS technology. Really great book.
