How much do parents really want to know about their kids? #1 bestselling author Harlan Coben asks that provocative and terrifying question with his fifteenth thriller. #1 bestselling author Harlan Coben has become an unstoppable force in suspense fiction. His most recent novel, The Woods, spent more time on the New York Times bestseller list than his previous books and sales reached his highest levels to date. His latest page-turner, which is about just how far parents will go to protect their kids, is destined for the top of every bestseller list. Tia and Mike Baye never imagined they'd become the type of overprotective parents who spy on their kids. But their sixteen-year-old son Adam has been unusually distant lately, and after the suicide of his classmate Spencer Hill--the latest in a string of issues at school--they can't help but worry. They install a sophisticated spy program on Adam's computer, and within days are jolted by a message from an unknown correspondent addressed to their son: "Just stay quiet and all safe." Meanwhile, browsing through an online memorial for Spencer put together by his classmates, Betsy Hill is struck by a photo that appears to have been taken on the night of her son's death . . . and he wasn't alone. She thinks it is Adam Baye standing just outside the camera's range; but when Adam goes missing, it soon becomes clear that something deep and sinister has infected their community. For Tia and Mike Baye, the question they must answer is this: When it comes to your kids, is it possible to know too much?

HOLD ON:
HOLD TIGHT I am never disappointed by Mr. Coben's books and this one was no exception. It deals with suicide, murder, troubled teens, ill children, marriages, both good and bad, and love. Always love. There are so many plots within plots in this book -- a murdering mad-man, a runaway son, a son who has committed suicide, a family looking for a donor for their ill son, a teacher who has gone too far - wow, so many plots. And all happening within one little town. The story starts out with a... more info
The ending made me glad I borrowed it. .:
I borrowed this from a friend and was quickly engrossed, in fact I devoured it in two days. After reading the ending though, I was thoroughly glad it was a borrowed book. Without spoiling the details for others, the ending just isn't believable. There is no way in real life all of these tense, on the edge situations the characters find themselves in at the end of the book would turn out the way they do. I had great hopes for this story while reading, but after I finished I felt cheated. This was my first... more info
Great:
I really loved this book. I finished the book in 2 days! I liked the storyline of the teens. Lots in the book, but interesting ending that pulled it together.
HOLD TIGHT by Harlan Coben:
Harlan Coben is the best contemporary mystery writer out there. Once you begin one of his books, any of the books I've read so far, you simply cannot put it down. Riveting. He weaves his characters, plot line, and story together to the point where you cannot figure out how the book will end until the last few pages. Amazing! And with his Myron Bolitar series, he is very funny, too! I highly recommend THE INNOCENT by Coben to start with, and you'll be hooked for all the rest.
