What came under this title was actually J.M. Barries book Better Off Dead. Ihave tried To talk t customer service by phone and email. No service at all. I cant review Fairy Tales until I can actually read it.
Close to the original:
This translation of the original Danish seem to match well the stories I grew up to like back in Scandinavia. If you want to get close to the mind of HC Andersen, this is a good bet. For younger children some of the stories may be inappropriate. For example, "the Red Shoes" has a girl getting her feet chopped off for her sins. In general, HC didn't necessarily believe in happy endings, so be aware. This is a non-Disney fairy tale book. The book's binding and pages are a bit stiff, but not overly.... more info
THIS BOOK HAS NO ILLUSTRATIONS!!!!:
My daughter (for whom this book was purchased) was very disappointed that this book had no illustrations. Is this not a children's book??????????!? What were these publishers thinking? The first thing she said when we excitedly unboxed and opened up this book was, "Why aren't there any pictures?!?". Had I known this book were not child-friendly, I would not have wasted my money. Fairy Tales:
This is a good book. It has has all the anderson fairy tales I've ever heard of. The drawings aren't the greatest. I'd say the book would be for a child under 8.
